Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe may collect billing details as described in their privacy policy.
Usage data: We collect basic usage metrics such as login frequency and subscription status.
VeriCap captures screen content and system audio on your device to power real-time fact-checking. This data is processed as follows:
Screen text and screenshots: Screen text may be captured so VeriCap can extract claims visible on screen. Extracted text may be sent to AI APIs for fact-checking analysis. We do not store raw screen recordings on our servers.
Audio: System audio is captured locally and sent to third-party transcription services to extract spoken claims for fact-checking. Audio is discarded immediately after transcription. We do not store raw audio recordings on our servers.
Text sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Perplexity) is subject to their respective data usage policies.
We use collected information to: provide and maintain the Service, process payments, communicate with you about your account, and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (authentication and account management), and OpenAI (text analysis and transcription). Each provider processes data according to their own privacy policies.
Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. Screen and audio context is generally processed in real time and not stored persistently as raw media on our servers. Derived outputs such as notes, session summaries, memory entries, or analytics events may be stored locally on your device or in our hosted systems depending on the feature you use.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Authentication is managed by Supabase with industry-standard practices. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.
You may: access your account information at any time, request deletion of your account by contacting support, and cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal.
VeriCap is not intended for use by anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service.
